In my latest exhibition, ESTRANGED, I had the opportunity to present a series of portraits that tell the stories of young people struggling with their identity and feelings of alienation. This series is an intimate and personal project in which I have delved deeply into the vulnerability and resilience of my subjects.
The exhibition was made possible through a collaboration with Art That Matters, a foundation that supports art projects with social impact. Thanks to their dedication and vision, I am given the space to showcase my work and contribute to a broader societal conversation. Art That Matters provides a platform for artists like myself to share difficult, yet important stories through art.
ESTRANGED stems from my fascination with human stories and the power of imagery to convey those narratives. The young people in my portraits often face challenges when it comes to self-acceptance and finding their place in the world. With this series, I hope to spark a conversation about identity, alienation, and inclusivity.
This exhibition goes beyond displaying images; it offers a platform for dialogue and reflection. Through the collaboration with Art That Matters and their mission to give art a voice in social issues, we are able to bring this work to a wider audience. Together, we aim to show people that everyone walks their own unique path towards self-discovery.
I invite you all to visit the exhibition and experience the stories behind the images. ESTRANGED is a visually powerful project, and I am grateful to be able to share it through the support of Art That Matters.
The exhibition takes place at Tongerlohuys, an inspiring venue where art and culture come together. We warmly welcome you to stop by and experience the power of photography from October 9th to October 13th. Click here for more information.
